Inflation in the UK cooled and the Bank of England is expected to keep rates on hold this week. In the Eurozone consumer inflation rose 1.9% in May, lower than the April measure of 2.2%. Current account surplus in the common currency area narrowed from €50.9 billion in March to €19.8 billion in April because of the sharp decline in both goods and services exports. Amidst uncertainty investors are cautious and equities are directionless ahead of this evening’s Fed decision on interest rates, which is expected to stay at 4.5%.
